Third mainland bridge resumes full operations

The federal government has announced the reopening of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

The bridge which was partially closed to traffic in the last seven weeks, has finally been re-opened after massive repair works.

It was stated that the bridge was improved with lane markings, new streetlights and CCTV installed.

Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, made this known in a post shared on his X page, April 4, 2024.

Osiyemi said: "We are pleased to announce the successful reopening of the Third Mainland Bridge after extensive maintenance works.

Sincere appreciation to Mr. President, the Honorable Minister of Works, David Umahi, & our Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for their invaluable support."

The Minister also cautioned the public to desist from overspeeding on the third mainland bridge.

"Third Mainland Bridge Reopen Today.
Please avoid over speeding.
Obey all traffic rules.
Your Safety is our Priority," he wrote.
