'They feel like God' - Knocks as Wike orders Permanent Secretaries to bow before Tinubu

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, was called out on social media after he asked the newly promoted permanent secretaries in his ministry to bow before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the video that has gone viral, Wike was seen calling out the nine appointees to show appreciation to the President for allowing the FCT to appoint its first permanent secretaries.

They could be seen bowing to Tinubu and other dignitaries at the event.

The incident occurred at the commissioning of the expanded Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) completed by the FCT administration.

Wike, a chieftain of the largest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be the first FCT minister to constitute the FCT Civil Service Commission and the first minister to appoint permanent secretaries in Nigeria's history.

His actions have, however, been condemned by a section of users on social media after it emerged.

At the same event, the president named the Arterial Road N20 in Abuja in honour of Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka.

The newly inaugurated bridge runs through Northern Parkway to Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) in Abuja.

The Arterial Road N20 is one of the transverse arterial roads connecting the ONEX and the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) through the sector centers, according to Channels TV.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman will enhance vehicular traffic from the bounding districts of Mabushi, Katampe, Jahi, and Kado.
