'They are both jobless and baby politicians' - Reactions as Obi, Atiku attend court petition

After Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president in the February 25 presidential elections, made his first appearance in court for the elections petition, tongues are wagging on social media.

In their respective cases, Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) are contesting the results of the election, claiming that the INEC's handling of the process violates a number of Electoral Act sections.

They claimed that INEC rigged the election to benefit the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

When Atiku appeared in court for the first time since the five-member panel started hearing cases on Monday, May 8, 2023, many people were astounded.

According to a tweep going by the handle @IgweOdyssey, Obi is the reason Atiku showed up for the court hearing because without Obi, Atiku would never have descended from his "high horse" to attend court proceedings.

There were many different viewpoints, some claimed that Obi had changed the narrative surrounding political representation and leadership.

Others stated that Tinubu didn't attend the hearing because he had traveled outside in preparation for his inauguration on Monday, May 29 while the two chose to attend the court hearing because "they are jobless."
