As Lagos state government gave the approval for churches in the state to reopen despite the increase in cases of COVID-19, three popular pastors in the state have resolved to keep the doors of their auditoriums shut until it is safe to reopen them.

These men of God include Pastor Tunde Bakare, Pastor Sam Adeyemi and Prophet TB Joshua. Legit.ng discusses their reasons for refusing to reopen their churches despite the approval by the Lagos state government, reports Legit.

Pastor Tunde Bakare is the general overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), formerly known as the Latter Rain Assembly.

During his church's online Sunday service on August 2, the man of God wondered why the federal government reopened churches despite its warning that August would be the peak of the deadly disease, reports Legit.

He said: "Do not let anyone, whether religious leader or governmental leader, to drive you like a sheep to the slaughter."

Pastor Bakare urged people to ensure that they follow all the necessary guidelines so as to be safe.

The senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre said his church would not be reopening until it is safe to do so.

The man of God said his church would continue its online service pending further review by the leadership of the church.

The general overseer of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) said he would not reopen his church until he hears from God.

According to Prophet Joshua, he would let his followers know as soon as God speaks to him.
