The love story between Yahaya Bello and Fani-Kayode waxes on

The newfound love between Governor Yahaya Bello and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode is waxing strong as both men continue to show that differences in political ideologies can unite Nigeria rather than destroy it.

Lately, both men have struck a relationship that goes beyond their politics.

While Osun-born Fani-Kayode is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Bello is an emerging force in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Bello visited the Abuja home of Fani-Kayode on Wednesday, March 3, and the photos were shared on social media by the former minister.

Fani-Kayode also wrote:

“It was an honour and pleasure to receive His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state in my Abuja home yesterday. “We had a wonderful time and my entire household was thrilled by his presence. We shall continue to build bridges and to work hard and interact across party lines...for the unity and progress of our country.”

A few weeks ago, Fani-Kayode visited Governor Bello at the Kogi state governor's lodge in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The visit sparked speculations that Fani-Kayode was on his way to the APC, especially as Governor Bello currently heads a committee within the APC mandated to bring in new members to the ruling party, Legit.ng reports.

Days after the meeting, Governor Bello announced that Fani-Kayode had defected to the APC after he revalidated his APC membership in his country home in Kogi state.

The governor also described the former minister as a foundational member of the ruling party.

Fani-Kayode, however, took to his social media pages to say consultations were still on and he has not defected.

Weeks later, senior PDP officials visited Fani-Kayode and accused the APC of trying to lure him to the ruling party.

It is not clear if the latest visit by Governor Bello is another push to get Fani-Kayode to dump the PDP.
