'The bench is becoming the coffin of democracy' - Shehu Sani bemoans Plateau Governor sack by Appeal Court

The former Federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has condemned the verdict of the Appeal Court that nullified the election of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

Recall that on Sunday, November 19, the appellate court in Abuja sacked Caleb Mutfwang as Governor of Plateau State.

In a unanimous judgement led by Justice Okong Abang, the court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw his certificate of Return and declare the All Progress Congress Governorship candidate, Nentawe Yiltwatda as winner of the guber polls.

Taking to his X page to lament the judgment, Sani described the verdict as a broad daylight heist.

He noted that the bench is becoming the coffin of democracy.

“The Court of Appeal Judgement against the electoral victory of the Plateau State Governor is unfortunate, unacceptable and condemnable. A broad daylight heist of the will of the people. The bench is becoming the coffin of democracy,” he said.
