Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has set the record straight on the never-ending debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over who is the greatest footballer of all time.
Speaking on the Beast Mode On Podcast, the Fulham midfielder disclosed that while Ronaldo has an insane aura around him, it was more about efficiency, positioning in the box and putting chances away.
He added that Messi, on the hand, has some kind of invincibility around him which makes him almost impossible to tackle by defenders.
"That's a tough one. It's tough for me. I always say, Messi."
"It's also quite different because when I played against Ronaldo, don't get me wrong, the aura is crazy, but it was a different stage of his career, it was just about efficiency, getting into the box and scoring.
"When I played against Messi at the Nou Camp, they had Neymar, Suarez, Iniesta, Xavi, and Dani Alves. There're just names on names, and that was on my first Champions League start.
"You head out of the tunnel, and the fans are chanting Messi's name. Meanwhile, there are other superstars."
