Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has lamented that terrorists in Northern Nigeria kill fellow Muslims even during Ramadan fasting period.

Sani said this following a suicide bombing by Boko Haram that killed 23 people and left hundreds injured in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday.

According to Sani, terrorists are fond of heightening their attacks whenever Nigeria nears an election period.

He said on X, "Each time the election season is upon us, bandits and terrorists in the North heighten their attacks. Whatever their motive or intention for this calculated upsurge, it’s condemnable. They kidnap and murder their fellow Muslims in the holy month of Ramadan and claim to be fighting a religious cause. Our Clerics must muster the courage to rebuke these evil forces."
