Following reports that a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crashed in Niger state, a terrorist group has claimed responsibility.

On Monday, August 14, an Air Force surveillance helicopter reportedly crashed in Badna, Chukuba ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The authorities having confirmed the incident noted that they have commenced a investigation to determine the probable cause of the incident.

However, some terrorists claimed they brought down the helicopter using an AK47 rifle.

This was announced in a two-minute-and-seventeen-second video.

On of the terrorists in the video who spoke Hausa said they are the Dogo Gide group, a notorious bandit that have terrorised parts of Niger State.

They have been known to have caused the deaths of many farmers and security personnel.
