Terror Alert: Bomb planted in Abuja? - Fresh revelation emerges

Olumuyiwa Adejobi Olumuyiwa Adejobi

The Nigerian police have said that news of bombs planted in some specific areas in Abuja, Nigeria's capital is false.

According to the police the outfit is displeased by the spread of false news by people who are supposed to promote peace in the country.

This was stated in a release signed by the force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and shared on the verified Twitter page of the force on Saturday, October 29.

Their comment comes following the terror alert by the United States Embassy advising its citizens against going in certain parts of Nigeria.

Reacting to this, the Nigerian authority debunked the terror claims and said that the FCT is safe and there is no imminent threat, nor is the capital being saturated with bombs.

Adejobi further, asked Nigerians to disregard the fake news as it purported to create unnecessary fear among the people.

His statement reads in part:

“I dont think it will do our country any good to continually spread such fearful rumours to further create more panic to citizens and residents of the FCT and Nigeria at large.”
