The Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has challenged the herbalists in a community following the numerous attacks and rebellious acts happening in the area.

His comment comes after reports indicate that some residents are obstructing a road project and also kidnapping the engineers working on the road projects.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony for the construction Obidhi-Ozochi road and bridge, Wike questioned the motive of the residents who cry for development but go ahead and obstruct the projects in their community.

Wike expressing his disappointment, lashed out at the herbalists in the community. He asked why the gods allow people to engage in rebellious acts that hinders their growth and development.

"Those of you that say you talk to the gods of the land, what are the gods doing? What are the gods doing? Your own is you know the gods when you want to go and 'shack' chicken....why not tell the them! tell them 'Are you people sleeping?', are you not seeing these things that is happening," Wike said.
