Team Nigeria is off to a record-breaking start at the ongoing CAC Track and Para-Track African Continental Championships in Cairo, Egypt — winning 4 Gold Medals in commanding fashion in the Tandem B Class category.
Tijani Daramola and his pilot Okeyah Bethel Temple clinched double gold in the Men’s Tandem B Class, winning both the Sprint and Individual Pursuit events.
In the women’s events, Favour Omo and her pilot Tawakalt Yekeen delivered a matching double-gold performance in the Women’s Tandem B Class, also triumphing in the Sprint and Individual Pursuit races.
This early medal haul is a direct result of the structured investment and elite preparation led by the National Sports Commission, under the Chairmanship of Malam Shehu Dikko and the Director General, Chief Bukola Olawale Olopade.
“We’re not just competing — we’re winning with intent, backed by vision and discipline,” said Joel O. Akinluwa, Secretary General, Cycling Federation of Nigeria, reporting live from Cairo.
