Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to assist the state in its fight against COVID-19.

Tambuwal urged the president to assist the state with logistics and technical support to help curb the spread of the virus in the state.

The governor who made the request during a statewide broadcast on COVID-19 on Monday also revealed that Sokoto State has 66 cases of COVID-19 with eight deaths.

He said: “Due to the rising statistics in Sokoto State, I wish to appeal to Mr President and the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 to intervene in our state, through the provision of logistics and technical support, with a view to stemming the disturbing trend.”
