Former Big Brother Naija housemate Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has advised the reality show’s organisers to pause to re-strategise and introduce fresh concepts.
Tacha, who appeared on Arise 360 on Arise TV, said social media’s dominance has changed how audiences consume entertainment, making it imperative for BBNaija to evolve.
“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something because we are really at an era where everything happens on social media,” she said.
She noted that online conversations now rival reality TV for viewership, citing the public fascination with the ongoing rift between music duo P-Square.
“You don’t want us watching housemates in the house, meanwhile P-Square is giving us part seven of his family issues… we have come to a point where everyone is so comfortable with social media right now,” she said.
According to her, a break would let the show return stronger while rekindling audience interest.
“You also give Nigerians a chance to miss you,” she said.
The reality star further stated that producers must be more inventive to satisfy a demanding audience.
“They need to cook, like they need to try to do something different which will be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please,” she added.
Tacha first gained public attention during the 2019 “Pepper Dem” season of BBNaija, where she was disqualified after a physical altercation with Mercy Eke.
Since leaving the house, she has ventured into entertainment, fashion, and broadcasting, including a stint as a radio host on Cool FM, and launched Tacha FC in 2024.
