Suspend Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and face insecurity - Atiku's son tells Tinubu

Shehu Abubakar, a son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has advised President Bola Tinubu to suspend work on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and channel the resources to fight insecurity.

"If the President is serious, he should suspend the work on Coastal road, and rechannel those funds to solving insecurity in the country. Whats the point of the roads if people arent safe driving on them?" said Abubakar.

However, some netizens knocked Atiku's son for the advice, describing it as coming from a place of hate for the Southern region, since he never called for the suspension of projects in his northern region.

@onikoyiIsmail1 said, "You are not asking the president to suspend Abuja, Kaduna- Kano highway, AKK gas and train to Niger Republic, the provision of infrastructure in the North, which is the theatre of insecurity, you are talking about Coastal Road."

@EyesWideShot77 said, "These are the sorts Amaechi & Aregbesola are cavorting with—useless mouths wracked with jealousy over Southern progress. As if insecurity wasn’t ravaging you when Buhari built his railroad to nowhere. Anyway, even if insecurity decimates your village, the coastal road will go on."

@Akanji29597714 said, "That's very wrong. An intelligent person wont say this. The contract has been awwarded over a year ago. Any deviation would amount to legal issues of breach of agreement. That's what Buhari did when he came in. Council Jonathan's $14m contract and we ended up paying $44M fine"
