Gunmen have killed a farmer, Pam Dogo, in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the victim was returning home when he was attacked by the assailants, who laid ambush for him.
The incident happened on Saturday in Wereng community of the council area.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the killing to our correspondent in Jos on Sunday.
Tengwong said, “Around 8pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022, a native of Wereng community of Riyom LGA, Plateau State, was ambushed by armed men suspected to be Fulani militias on his way home from Farin Lamba. As a result, Mr Pam Dogo was killed.”
Residents of Wereng community, who condemned the killing, said the attack had been reported to the police in the council area.
Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Uba Ogaba, were unsuccessful as his mobile phones were switched off.
