The north London giants have a rich history of associating with Nigerian-born talents, not forgetting the great Nwankwo Kanu and Alex Iwobi, and they could add another this summer

A section of Arsenal fans on social media micro-blogging site Twitter has become excited after the Gunners were linked with a move for PSV starlet Chukwunonso ‘Noni’ Madueke.

Arsenal are keen on Madueke and will have to rival FA Cup winners Leicester City, and bitter city rivals Tottenham Hotspurs for the England youth international of Nigerian descent, according to the Sun.

The Gunners are not short of wingers, with manager Mikel Arteta able to call on Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe, and fit-again Gabriel Martinelli.

But Madueke shown like a million stars last season for PSV after joining from the Tottenham academy in 2018, emerging as one of Eredivisie’s most exciting talents.

The 19-year-old has already kicked on from where he stopped last term, notching four goals in four games, including a double in the crushing defeat of Ajax in the Dutch Super Cup last weekend.

Valued at £22m, Madueke is attracting plenty of interest, and now Arsenal appear to be keen on signing the young attacker.

And a few Arsenal fans believe he would be a fantastic addition to an Arsenal side that has not qualified for any European competition this campaign.

What’s gotten into Edu? White, Lokonga, Tavares and now Madueke. Imagine our team in 5 years. The Arteta revolution is on baby.

Arsenal, though, could have a tough time signing Madueke ahead of Tottenham as the youngster spent his formative years with the Spurs.
