The Super Falcons have dropped significantly in the latest FIFA rankings for women’s national teams.
The 10-time African champions have slipped seven places in the latest rankings released on Tuesday, October 20.
The Super Falcons dropped from 36th to 43rd in the world.
However, the Super Falcons remain undisputed in Africa, maintaining their position as the continent’s number-one team.
South Africa, Morocco, Ghana and Zambia occupy the second to fifth positions on the continent, respectively.
The Super Falcons’ significant drop can be attributed to their disappointing outing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they exited the tournament at the quarter-final stage.
However, the Super Falcons bounced back in the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers with emphatic back-to-back victories over Comoros.
