Super Falcons climb FIFA rankings despite recent poor form

The Super Falcons of Nigeria may have been struggling in their recent matches, winning just one of their last eight games, but they have still managed to climb up the latest FIFA rankings for Women’s international teams.

The team has moved up three places from 45th to 42nd in the March rankings, despite their recent poor form.

This ranking puts Nigeria as the highest-ranked African country in the world, with reigning African Champions South Africa coming in at 54th place.

Nigeria is also ranked higher than Morocco (73rd) and Zambia (77th), who finished second and third, respectively, in the recent Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

Cameroon, who were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the AFWCON, were ranked as the third-best team in Africa and the 56th in the world. Ghana, who were not at the competition at all, were ranked as the fourth-best team in Africa and the 59th in the world.

Although the Super Falcons have been struggling, their rise in the FIFA rankings will be a source of encouragement for the team as they look to improve their recent form and climb up the rankings even further.
