Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong has confirmed the ongoing impasse between the Super Eagles and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over unpaid bonuses.

According to the Al-Kholood defender, no agreement has been reached with the NFF.

Troost-Ekong and his teammates boycotted Tuesday evening’s training session due to unpaid bonuses for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Head coach Finidi George and his backroom staff are also owed unpaid salaries.

The team is demanding a quick resolution to the issue before returning to training ahead of the crucial World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.

“Once a resolution is found, we will be the first to confirm,” Troost-Ekong said in a social media post shared by football pundit Oluwashina Okeleji.

“Any other statement/claim or especially demands other than the rightful request written about below is FALSE.

“All we want and continue to do is focus on the big games ahead.”
