Former Nigeria skipper John Mikel Obi has shared his thoughts on the mammoth quarter-final clash between the Super Eagles and Algeria at the ongoing 2025 AFCON.
Eric Chelle's side will face the 2019 winners in what is expected to be a feisty encounter at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday, January 10.
The Desert Foxes edged the Super Eagles in the semi-final en route to their 2019 triumph in Egypt.
Speaking ahead of the clash, former Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi urged the Super Eagles to approach the game the right way by putting in their best performance against the North Africans.
“We have to make sure we approach the game the right way because it is going to be a very difficult game against Algeria,” he stated on the Obi One Podcast.
“Algeria is a very good team; they play as a team. I’ve watched them a couple of times.
“Algeria are very aggressive, and they have quality players, so the Super Eagles need to be on their A-game.”
