With hours left before the closure of the January Transfer Window, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has hinted to Legit.ng that a deal with Premier League club West Brom is imminent.

After leaving Premier League side Leicester City in 2018 due to lack of enough playing time, Musa who remains Nigeria's all-time record scorer at the World Cup with 4 goals joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old left Al Nassr late in 2020 after spending two years in the Middle East.

He has been a free agent - with several clubs jostling for his signature; and now it looks like West Bromwich Albion is his next destination.

As a free agent he can sign out of the window but West Brom want to be convinced of his condition and fitness before they agree a contract.

The Athletic's Steve Madeley tweeted: "Ahmed Musa finally due in to be assessed for form and fitness imminently. He's a free agent so could sign after today's transfer deadline."

It was gathered that he is expected to land in the UK on Tuesday, February 2, and head straight to the Hawthorns for medicals as he puts the finishing touches to a free transfer.

The 95-time Nigeria international is best known to English fans for his time with Leicester City.

The pacey winger played for the Foxes between 2016 and 2018, scoring five times in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Legit.ng reached out the star over the deal and Musa assured that details would be available"soon", adding that he is ready for further comments as soon as it is made official.

The attacker recently completed another multi-million naira facility in the northern part of the country, barely two years after opening the Kano outfit.

This facility has a mini football pitch and other indoor and outdoor equipment for the use of individuals and groups of people.

Musa dropped the development on his Instagram stories today, February 1, calling on his fans to make use of the ultra-modern initiative for their own good.
