Prominent Indian-born businessman and industrialist Chief Dr. Grover Anil has called on young Nigerians to rethink the widespread trend of emigrating abroad, known locally as the "Japa syndrome," asserting that the nation remains packed with untapped commercial opportunities.

Speaking as a guest on Your View (The Morayo Show), Dr. Anil questioned why foreign investors, particularly from India, continue to establish thriving enterprises in Nigeria while native citizens seek exit routes.

Highlighting the stark contrast in perspective, the industrialist urged the youth to shift their focus from "brain drain" to "brain gain" by leveraging local mentorship networks and business avenues.

"Let's stop this Japa syndrome. There are plenty of opportunities in Nigeria... Young Nigerians, rather than doing brain drain, let's do the brain gain" Dr. Anil stated.

Elaborating on his philosophy for personal and professional growth, Dr. Anil shared what he termed the four pillars of human life required to achieve balance and success.

"One of the strongest pillars... is family life. Second pillar is your God, your Allah, your religion. The third strongest pillar is your profession and your career... The fourth pillar is your passion, your friendsed.

"The first two... give you inner strength, inner peace. But on the other hand... your profession and your friends give you external power so that you can enjoy this world," he explain.

"Japa"β€”a Yoruba slang term meaning to flee or run awayβ€”describes the massive wave of skilled Nigerian professionals and youth migrating to the UK, Canada, Europe, and the US due to inflation, unemployment, and economic uncertainty.
