Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has stated that Aku Victor Chiemerie, the Nigeria Police Force cameraman who stole his pair of Ray-Ban Meta AI-powered glasses during the #PoliceProtest on Monday, has now deactivated his Facebook account.
According to Sowore, he had been operating under the name "Vyktur McEntire Akunamatata."
A video, shared by Sowore immediately after the protest by retired police officers over pension benefits, showed the moment Chiemerie stretched his hand to remove the glasses from Sowore's face during the protest.
After uncovering the man's identity, Sowore stated that he immediately deactivated his social media accounts.
He also alleged that the man was sent on the mission by Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
He said, "Before deactivation, several of his photos were captured and archived. Let it be known: the search for this national thief continues. No amount of hiding, deleting, or shielding will protect him from full accountability for his actions.
"Justice will catch up with him, and ACP Muyiwa Adejobi @Princemoye1 (who has also blocked me on Facebook, so I can't tag him), the Force PPRO, who sent him."
