Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has slammed celebrities who remain silent about the plight of police officers but enjoy the premium protection they provide.

Sowore has, of late, been campaigning against the poor treatment of police officers, especially the low-ranking ones who earn a meagre salary.

It was also discovered recently that they get paid cheap money as pension despite serving the country for decades.'

Coming to their rescue, Sowore clamours for a protest to be spearheaded by police officers against the poor treatment.

He recently posted, "Regarding the Nigeria Police Force pension struggle, it has been noted that Illegal IGP Egbetokun and his team are spreading propaganda to scare police people from organising and joining, do not fall for it. #policepensionprotest

"Attached video below is what we’ve always talked about. You can’t run a police force without equipment, tools, motivation, incentives and proper remuneration and expect miracles. #EgbetokunMustGo."

In another post, he criticised celebrities who frequently share photos showing them receiving police protection.

He said, 'Interestingly, celebrities, influencers, politicians, business executives, traditional and religious leaders, who enjoy premium protection from the Nigeria Police Force, are silent about the plight of Nigeria’s police personnel. #PoliceProtest."
