Senior Special Adviser to the President on Digital New Media, O'tegra Ogra, has said the South-East will benefit from the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Following a clarification from the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, Ogra said the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will now have two spurs.
He said one would maintain the original 750km alignment to the South-South and another to the South Eastern states via the 400km East-West Road (Edo to Calabar) with connections to the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Asaba-Aba-PH Routes and the Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja Highway, which further connects to the Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja road network.
He said the new addition to the Coastal Highway Project will bring about the most comprehensive interconnection of the entire Southern Nigeria.
"By the time 7th Axial Rd linking Epe-Sagamu is completed, the Oyo-Osun Axis gains almost direct access to Island Lagos/Coastal Highway via the Sagamu interchange," he said.
