The moment President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took his oath of office has emerged on social media.

Tinubu, the 16th President of Nigeria was inaugurated as the president following his victory in the February 25 presidential elections.

He mounted the podium alongside his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. Former President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha Buhari stood behind Tinubu as he took oath of office.

The former Lagos governor said; "I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, do solemnly swear that I will not allow my personal interests to influence my official conduct or decisions... So help me, God."

Vice President Kashim Shettima was invited to the podium alongside his wife. His oath of office was administered by the CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

Tinubu, a former Senator and governor of Lagos State was declared the winner of the February 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election while Peter Obi of the Labour Party came third in the election with a total of 6,101,533 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
