Skin bleaching has never occurred to me — Damilola Oni

Actress Damilola Oni has said she has never considered skin bleaching, attributing her confidence to the foundation laid by her parents.

Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Oni stated that her upbringing played a major role in shaping how she sees herself.

“Skin bleaching has never occurred to me. According to Olushola Ajadi, my father, I am the most beautiful girl in the world. My parents set the foundation for my confidence,” she said.

The actress also spoke on the growing culture of hype in the entertainment industry, noting that publicity sometimes overshadows talent.

“Hype surpasses talent and it can be hurtful. Because at times the people that ought to have excelled and become famous are not the ones we hear about. But if you can hype your craft, you have gained the world,” she said.

Oni further explained that she is intentional about the people she works with, stressing the importance of boundaries in her career.

“The people I work with know what I want and what I don’t want. That is why I don’t pass my boundaries. If I am not sure this individual would give me what I want, I won’t get close in the first place. Because I don’t want trouble. It’s money we spend,” she added.
