Kabiru Amadu, House of Representatives from Zamfara State has announced his defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the floor of the chamber.

This comes days after the defection of Governor Bello Matawalle and some members of the National Assembly to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The letter of defection was read by Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila at plenary on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Mr. Adamu is the last of six others from Zamfara who had earlier declared their intention to make that switch alongside Governor Bello Matawalle.

Matawalle of Zamfara State had formally announced his defection from the PDP to the APC in Gusau, the state capital, along with members of the federal and state legislatures.
