Six security firms secure NCAA certification

Six aviation security institutions and service providers have been issued Aviation Security authorisation certificates by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority as part of efforts to strengthen aviation security standards and regulatory compliance in the country’s aviation sector.

According to a statement on the NCAA’s X handle, the certified institutions are the FAAN Aviation Training School, Maiken Security and Consultancy Services Limited, Safety Signatures Limited, Jomaric Security Service Nigeria Limited, and Vani Security.

Speaking through the statement, the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Chris Najomo, represented by the Director of Aviation Security Regulation, Bernard Omogo, said certification remained compulsory for all institutions involved in aviation security operations.

He noted that certification remains “a mandatory requirement for all institutions engaged in aviation security operations, and its approval is strictly based on compliance with established regulatory standards”.

Also speaking, the Head of Training and Certification, AVSEC, Hamza Ibrahim, described the exercise as “a new phase of verification for service providers”.

He explained that while some institutions underwent renewal processes, others received the unified NCAA certification, whose validity period “has been extended from two years to three years, for the first time.”

The statement added that top officials of the NCAA, representatives of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Ministry of Aviation, and other stakeholders and operators within the aviation security sector attended the event.

In a vote of thanks, representatives of the service providers expressed appreciation to the NCAA for the exercise, describing it as “a significant initiative”.

They also pledged continued compliance with aviation security regulations and commitment to uphold professionalism and global best practices in their operations.
