Six people confirmed dead by Kaduna Electric Management due to power surge

The management of Kaduna Electric on Tuesday, confirmed that six persons were killed after a power surge last week.

Recall that a high voltage of electric killed 10 persons and burnt a house of one of the residents in the city.

However, in a statement on Tuesday by the company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Malam Abdulazeez Abdullahi, on Tuesday said contrary to some reports, its investigations revealed that six people died from the incident.

He revealed the names of the victims as; Mrs. Aliya Jibril, Ibrahim Ja’afaru, Murtala Ibrahim, Malam Auwal, Solomon Yusuf and ASP Kokuma Lumba, adding that, all the deceased persons lived on Kagoro Close, Gwargwaje, except ASP Lumba who resided in the Police Barracks.

According to the statement, the six the company, had reached out to the families of the six victims, just as it has taken measures to avoid recurrence.

He further added that the company is liaising with the traditional institutions and security agencies on the next steps.
