Six final-year nursing students from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) tragically lost their lives in a road accident while en route to sit for their final exams.

The students, all in their 500-level open and distance learning Bachelor of Nursing Science program, were traveling to Ogbomoso, Oyo State, when the crash occurred. Among the victims was a pregnant student, whose life was cut short in the incident. Their bodies are now in a mortuary, awaiting autopsy and further instructions from authorities.

Their deaths have sent shockwaves through the university community and beyond. Reports indicate that these women were working nurses, balancing hospital duties with academic commitments, family responsibilities, and professional development.

Classmates, expecting to reunite with them during exams, are left in disbelief and mourning. As of now, no official statement has been released by LAUTECH regarding the details of the accident.
