Akin Olowokere, assistant coach of Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars, has reportedly slumped and died earlier today, Monday, August 11.

Olowokere was one of the coaches recently appointed by the club following a restructuring of the technical crew.

While there has been no official statement on the cause of his death, eyewitnesses said he collapsed on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

According to Punch, he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

Olowokere was appointed as part of the new coaching team after Shooting Stars parted ways with the Gbenga Ogunbote-led crew.
