Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was recently spotted wearing President Bola Tinubu’s well-known branded cap at an event.
In a video circulating on social media, Obasanjo, a staunch critic of Tinubu, was seen wearing the cap with the broken shackle logo on it.
The broken shackle logo is recognised as Tinubu’s signature emblem, which he often displays on his caps.
It was surprising for many to see the former President who had declared support for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party during the 2023 general election, wearing the branded cap.
Numerous Nigerians have taken to social media to share their thoughts.
Below are some reactions,
@Julietgold247: Hmmm politicians and their surprise
@Mayor_ofph: Obasanjo is BATified
@Emeritus2451096: Well, the signature doesn’t belong to PBAT (Better said adopted) it’s been in existent for centuries used within some certain people In Yoruba land. It’s an Esoteric concept.
@IgeIshola1: He is a retired Soldier — he was supporting PO so that PDP votes will go to PO but will not match that of APC.
He’s supporting Tinubu indirectly, he is only against Abiola,but he is using military tactics to against Atiku in support of Peter Obi in vavour of Tinubu ..
@itumasunny2496: They didn't remember Tinubu had a meeting with OBJ before the election. If you want to understand politics follow Tinubu. That cho cho cho Peter Obi does all over the place is not politics. That pretentious, deceptive, chameleonic politics Obi does won't take him anywhere.
@JaymoneyIOC: If you ask Obasanjo, I am sure he will explain that logo better to you
