Popular Nigerian singer and activist, Seun Kuti, has sparked controversy after criticizing many Yoruba monarchs, claiming they no longer believe in the traditional deities they are meant to represent.

Taking to his social media page, the outspoken son of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti called out a large number of Oduduwa kings, stating that their actions undermine the true essence of Yorubaland.

According to him, these traditional rulers are a mockery of the culture they are supposed to uphold. He expressed frustration at the continued celebration of cultural festivals in the midst of widespread poverty and suffering across Yoruba communities.

“Being Yoruba is not a festival,” Seun wrote. “Fanfare in the midst of misery, joy in the face of poverty, and glamour in the presence of ignorance.”

“90 percent of Yoruba kings don’t believe in Yoruba gods yet they sit on Yoruba thrones and make a mockery of what it means to be Yoruba.

n a stronger critique, he described the concept of a benevolent king or dictator as deceptive, claiming such figures often use generosity to mask deeper wrongdoings.
“There is no bigger criminal than the benevolent king/dictator,” he added.

Seun’s remarks come in the wake of the recently held Ojude Oba Festival, a prominent cultural celebration in Yoruba land, prompting mixed reactions from fans and observers online.

In other news, Priscilla Mkambala, the recently married daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, has shared a new intimate video with her husband, sparking mixed reactions online. Just days earlier, Tanzanian activist Mange Kimambi had admonished the couple, suggesting that their public displays of affection were distracting from significant governmental issues facing Tanzanians.

Mange alleged that the couple was intentionally diverting attention for financial gain, claiming that this behavior was undermining efforts for a better government. She even issued a warning that Priscilla could face public disapproval if she continued to ignore these concerns.

In a bold response, Priscilla released a video that included insults directed at the activist, with many fans coming to her defense. The video featured heartfelt moments between Priscilla and her husband, showcasing their love with kisses and hugs.

In her post, Priscilla mentioned that her husband would be traveling to London, expressing her sadness over his departure. Commenters in the section below offered their support, reassuring her that his trip held positive intentions and that he would soon return to her side.
