Service leaders and IGP arrives Maiduguri ahead of Buhari's visit

General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, with senior military leaders ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to the state capital today to assess the security situation in the region.

According to the Metro Times, Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Awwal Gambo, and Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), Maj-Gen. Samuel Adebayo, are among Irabor's entourage.

The service chiefs were met at the Maiduguri Airport by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali, who had arrived earlier. They then proceeded to the headquarters of Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Hadin Kai.

During the visit, Governor Babagana Zulum said the President would assess the security situation and inaugurate some feasible projects carried out by the federal and state governments.
