The Senate's sergeant-at-arms has officially reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central. The office, situated in suite 2.05 of the Senate wing, had been sealed since her suspension on March 6, 2025.
In a video circulated on Tuesday, Alabi Adedeji, deputy director of the sergeant-at-arms, was seen removing the red seal from the office door. "I, Alabi Adedeji, deputy director, sergeant-at-arms, hereby unseal the office," he announced in a brief 25-second clip, adding, "The office is now unsealed. Thank you."
It remains uncertain whether this action grants the senator access to her office and the parliamentary premises, as the Senate has not yet issued an official resolution on the matter. As of September 9, the National Assembly prevented Akpoti-Uduaghan from resuming her legislative duties, citing ongoing litigation related to her suspension. Her suspension, which lasted six months, was due to alleged violations of Senate rules.
