Senate appoints new chairman on media and public affairs

The Nigerian Senate has announced the appointment of senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs on Tuesday.

Senate president, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, made the announcement on the floor of the Senate during the plenary session on Tuesday.

The Senate shared the news on its official Twitter account, @NGRSenate, some moments ago.

"The new chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs.

"He is Senator (Dr) Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, representing Osun Central Senatorial District.

"His appointment was announced on the floor of the Senate today by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan," the tweet read.
