Security chiefs have done their best, they should go- Elisha Abbo

Senator representing Adamawa North, Elisha Abbo has joined the long list of senators clamouring for the sack of the service chiefs over rising insecurity in the country.

During their plenary session which held today in the National Assembly, the senators unanimously voted for their immediate resignation.

Abbo said the issue of funding was not the problem of the military but its leadership.

“Going by this budget document from 2012 to 2019, the army has received over N4 trillion, funding is not the problem,” Abbo said.

“The military will tell you their vehicle is spoilt and they cannot move. Mr president should look inwards. Security chiefs have done their best, they should go. when they came they vigour," he said.

The embattled lawmaker was caught on tape assaulting a woman, Warmate Osimibibra on clip.

The emergence of the video led an outrage amongst Nigerians who called for the lawmaker to be suspended by the Senate, and prosecuted in court.

He, however, issued a very public, teary-eyed apology to his victim and asked her, and Nigerians, for forgiveness days after the video's emergence.
