Eight victims abducted around Millennium City and Marabar Rido in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been rescued in a joint security operation involving the Department of State Services (DSS), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Nigeria Police Force and the military.
The victims were rescued between October 31 and November 2, 2026, during coordinated operations conducted in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, disclosed this while addressing journalists at the DSS Command headquarters in Kaduna.
Rabiu said the operation formed part of sustained efforts by security agencies to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks responsible for recurring abductions in Millennium City and surrounding communities.
The rescued victims were identified as Jamila Muhammad, 27, wife of Abdulkadir Bello; Talatu Yakubu, 40; Yunana Bawa, 30; Calista Bishop, 27; Chidinma Onuwere, 36; Eucharia Obi, 41; Godiya Victor, 50; and eight-year-old Miracle Alex.
The latest rescue comes weeks after security operatives freed Ahmad Zakka and members of his family on October 15, 2026.
According to Rabiu, the successive breakthroughs demonstrate the commitment of security agencies to rescuing abducted persons and dismantling kidnapping networks across Kaduna State.
He acknowledged the strategic coordination provided by ONSA, the operational support of the police, the intelligence-driven efforts of the DSS and the involvement of the military.
The police commissioner also commended the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, for its support, adding that the operations reflected President Bola Tinubu's commitment to addressing insecurity in the country.
Rabiu urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible and actionable intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers and bandits.
He assured members of the public that information supplied to security agencies would be treated confidentially.
The commissioner further called on traditional rulers and community leaders to support efforts to tackle insecurity in their respective communities.
He also appealed to media organisations to exercise caution in reporting security-related incidents, warning against the publication of unverified information that could compromise ongoing operations or create unnecessary panic.
