'Same hunger, same energy' — Osimhen fires back at critics after surpassing personal best

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has hit back at his critics after surpassing his personal best goal-scoring record for a season.

The 26-year-old scored a brace as Galatasaray thumped Sivasspor 4-1 in the Turkish Super Lig, taking his goal tally for the season to 33.

The Super Eagles striker surpassed his previous personal best of 31 goals in the 2022-23 season, when he helped Napoli secure their first Scudetto title in 33 years.

Osimhen currently leads the Super Lig top scorers chart with 24 goals in 27 league appearances for the league leaders.

The former Lille striker took to social media after the game to celebrate his remarkable feat while silencing his critics.

“Yesterday, I broke my personal record of 31 goals in a season for a club, now sitting at 33 goals. Same hunger. Same mentality,” he wrote.

“This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about God, the growth, and the silent, relentless work that speaks louder than any noise from the critics.”
