SON detains 10 fake product manufacturers in nine months

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria on Thursday, August 5, 2021, revealed that it had arrested 10 fake manufacturers operating in Kano, Ibadan and Lagos over the past nine months.

The organisation’s Director-General, Farouk Salim, made the statement during a one-day workshop organised for journalists by his organisation in Abuja.

According to him, the suspects were currently being prosecuted.

Salim also added that during the same period, the agency confiscated substandard tyres and other products worth hundreds of millions of naira from across the country.

He also observed that the enforcement activities of the organisation had been increased to drastically put an end to the import of substandard goods into the country.
