Three new Nigerian players are expected to join the Super Eagles camp ahead of the friendly against Russia.
The Super Eagles will face the Sbornaya at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday, October 6.
This will be the second time the two teams have met in two years after playing out a 1-1 draw at the Luzhniki Stadium in June last year.
The Super Eagles squad has been depleted by the absence of seven key players who have either been denied release by their clubs or sustained injuries.
The likes of skipper Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Usor, Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola, Victory Akpe and Suleiman Mubarak will all miss the friendly.
According to OwnGoalNigeria, head coach Eric Chelle has handed three players late call-ups to bolster the current squad at the team’s camp.
FC Rostov’s Ibraheem Ajasa is expected to arrive this morning, while Vince Osuji of Norwegian side Tromsø and Reims midfielder John Otomewo are expected to join the camp ahead of Tuesday’s friendly.
