Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) says he is ready to accept peace following the face-off with Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.

He, however, vowed not to allow anybody to drag him down amid his attempt to make peace.

The former governor made this known at his residence in Port Harcourt as he addressed traditional rules of Ogbaland who visited him on the occasion of his 56th birthday.

According to Wike: “No politician will fold his hands and allow himself to be dragged down.

“I and my team would accept peace but we won’t allow ourselves to be dragged down because when we go down, who will protect our people. Who will talk about our own interest.”

The crisis between Wike and Fubara had snowballed into disharmony within the state legislature as 27 lawmakers had defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

As the crisis deepened, the state House of Assembly was razed down by fire and Fubara’s administration demolished the complex.
