Rival NURTW groups fight with stones and cutlasses, one allegedly dead - Report

Two rival groups of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) clashed on Wednesday, September 29, at Iyana-Iba in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The fight between the two groups led to the death of one person.

In the video making rounds, young men were seen welding stones and cutlasses as they approach each other.

It was reported that policemen who were present at the scene stood back as they were outnumbered.

However, reports indicate that calm was later restored to the area.

Sharing a video of the incident on Twitter, an eyewitness wrote;

"As dirty as iyana iba market is… I really didn’t mind today, I just wanted to save my dear life, I had to jump down from the bike. Those guys were really prepared."
