Revealed: Tinubu meets Buhari in London before returning to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday night, June 26, met with his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, in London, United Kingdom.

Tinubu and Buhari were seen shaking hands in a photo released on social media on Tuesday, June 27.

The presidency said on Saturday, June 18, that the president was traveling to the UK from France, where he had been attending a summit convened by French President Emmanuel Macron on "A New Global Financing Pact."

The reason for the meeting is not yet known as of the time of filling this report.

However, Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening from London ahead of Wednesday’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The president was received by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; chief of staff and former speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State played the host to the President and was honoured with a motorcade by the military.

Tinubu was also welcomed at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport by the three senators from Lagos as well as members of the House of Representatives from Lagos.

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also at the Airport to receive the President with some dances and songs.

In a statement released by Dele Alake, a special adviser to the President, Tinubu returned home to take celebrate Eid in Lagos before returning to Lagos.
