A retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Adeleye Oyebade, on Tuesday urged the Nigeria Police Force to embrace technology in combating crime.

Oyebade stated this during his valedictory speech at the pull-out parade organised to celebrate his retirement from the police force.

The retired police officer, who was optimistic that the current ongoing police reform would better the police force, noted that training and retraining of officers must be in accordance with best global practices.

He said, “Although there are myriads of challenges confronting the police, there is hope on the horizon, and there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I desire that the ongoing police reform will continue unabated and that, hopefully in no distant time, we will have the people’s police of our dream.”

Oyebade, however, noted that he would be available anytime his service is required by the Nigeria Police Force.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who was represented by the Assistant General Overseer Admin, Pastor Johnson Odesola, urged the retired DIG to stay connected to God.
