Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and Spiritual Head of the Inri Evangelical Church, Lagos, has taken a swipe at the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, calling for his resignation over his inability to resolve the power crisis rocking the country.
The controversial cleric made the comments in a video shared on the church's official Facebook page.
He stated that Adelabu has acted below the expectations of Nigerians and should resign if he cannot deliver on his mandate.
"However, Minister of Power, don’t become Minister of Darkness. If you don’t know what to do or have no solution to Nigeria’s electricity problem, can you please resign? Everywhere darkness, darkness, darkness. Do you know what that portrays? It brings negativity. This is for the Minister of Power. You may get angry, you may reply, but that is just the warning," he said.
His call to Adelabu comes after he prophesied that a time is coming when there would be no more electricity globally. He also warned President Bola Tinubu not to consider increasing electricity tariffs in the country again.
"This is a very important prophecy to the world. A time is coming when there will be no more electricity. The source of electricity will change. I see water and salt as components of electricity all over the world," Ayodele declared.
He added: "Get prepared; I see that electricity tariff will be increased between October and February (2025). I want to advise the president: do all you can, don’t let it be increased. Do anything to manage it, because it is going to increase."

In another message, Primate Ayodele also predicted the possibility of an African president being abducted.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, and sent to Legit.ng, the cleric claimed that some long-serving presidents risk being seized by special forces.
Ayodele specifically warned Alassane Ouattara and Paul Biya, the presidents of Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon, respectively, to be careful.
The cleric said: “An African president may be kidnapped, I don’t know how it would happen, but I see forces kidnapping long-term presidents in Africa. The presidents of Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon must be careful of these too.”
