'Rerun is coming' - Nigerians react as Tinubu appoints Wike as Minister of FCT

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday released 45 names of ministers and their portfolios that will serve in his government.

Among them is the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who is also a member of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who has been appointed as the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Prior to his recent appointment, Wike served as a Governor from 2015-2023 under the former President Muhammadu Buhari and Minister of State for Education under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Despite his track record, Wike's appointment seem not to go down well with Nigerians. Many believe his appointment as Minister of FCT was because the ruling government foresee a rerun.

Recall that the opposition parties are challenging President Tinubu's victory at the Election Petition Tribunal Which is yet to give their judgement on the 2023 presidential election petition filed by Atiku Abubakar of PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
