Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is to blame for the rise of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

According to Reno Omokri, Buhari's failure to heed the advice given by the PDP and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar led to the problem Nigeria is facing with the virus.

MyNigeria.com recalls that Atiku and the PDP advised the President to close Nigeria's land and airspace borders to prevent the disease from getting into the country back in February.

Taking to Twitter, Reno Omokri stated that Buhari refused to heed their warning because his daughter and his late Chief of staff, Abba Kyari, were still out of the country.

“Dear General @MBuhari,

“You are shedding crocodile tears. You caused the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria by refusing to close Nigeria’s airspace in February, despite @Atiku asking you, because your daughter and Abba Kyari were abroad!”, he tweeted.
